For Families

Children with Special Needs

Family Support Network

Family Support Network of Northeastern NC provides services to families who have a child with a special need.

Families benefit from help and support that other families facing similar issues can provide as well as from information about their child’s special needs and available resources.

With this information, families can make informed decisions about services and support.

FSN of NENC provides the following services:

  • Support groups in Gates and Pasquotank counties - contact Brenda Dunford for meeting dates, times and locations.
  • Parent to Parent: a matching program for families who have just found out their child has special needs, or are going through transition
  • Referrals to resources in our community such as mental health, therapists, etc.
  • Requests to attend Individual Education Plan meetings with parents

A Central Directory of services can be found at fsp.unc.edu/CDR.

Family Support Network of Northeastern NC is an affiliate of Family Support Network of NC. Please visit their website at www.fsnnc.org.
