Child Care Resource and Referral offers a behavior specialist, a school-age specialist and an infant/toddler specialist to help providers in Region 1, which includes Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Northampton, Pasquotank and Perquimans counties.
Kari Stringer is CCR&R’s regional behavior specialist. The goal of the behavior specialist is to provide support for early care providers who have concerns about negative behavior in their facility. Services of the behavior specialist include observations and recommendations to help teachers with specific behavior issues; ideas for creating an environment that minimizes behavior problems; assessments and evaluations of children and the development of behavior management plans. In addition, training workshops on a variety of behavior-related issues are provided at various times and locations throughout the 10-county region. Jennifer Bradshaw is the CCR&R's regional Infant Toddler Specialist. She is available to help childcare providers serving infants and toddlers through on-site services including individualized consultation, targeted training, classroom focused mentoring and feedback, as well as resources and materials related to increasing the quality of care to infants and toddlers. Infant Toddler consultation supports providers in implementing best practices for infant and toddler programs everyday and can help prepare centers for their rated license assessments. The Infant Toddler Specialist also offers professional development for providers including ITS-SIDS.
